The existence of allergic fungal rhinosinusitis with small quantities of fungus in the sinuses causing extensive inflammation, high levels of IgE and associated asthma (allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, ABPA) warrants a careful check for this in CRSwNP in relevant areas of the world, as surgical removal is a necessity.
