Dupilumab is a fully human VelocImmune-derived monoclonal antibody that functions by blocking the shared receptor subunit for interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13, thereby inhibiting the signaling of these two cytokines and reducing type 2 inflammation associated with atopic dermatitis (AD) and related atopic diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and eosinophilic esophagitis (34, 35). The gene discussed is IL13; the disease is chronic rhinosinusitis.
