Compared with the lowest quartile (Q1) group, participants with higher AIP were generally male, Mexican American, current smokers, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes patients, with higher BMI, waist circumference, fasting blood glucose, HOMA-IR, hs-CRP, TC, TG, LDL-C, ALT levels, and lower HDL-C levels(all P-values < 0.05), while there were no differences in age, drinking status, PIR, and AST (all P-values > 0.05), and the baseline characteristics of the participants are detailed in Table 1. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and hyperlipidemia.
