HMGCR and migraine disorder: The merits of our study include: firstly, the inclusion of a greater number of cis-eQTLs that could influence HMGCR gene expression; secondly, the GWAS studies for migraines encompassed larger sample sizes and a greater number of migraine cases; thirdly, both the discovery and replication analyses indicated that a genetically determined high expression of HMGCR was correlated with an elevated risk of migraines.
