GJA1 and myocardial infarction: Li et al. (2018) observed that BMMSC transplantation increased the density of connexin 43, which improved the dispersion of electrical excitation in rats with myocardial infarction. MSC therapy also resulted in a shorter QRS duration and QTc interval, indicating the capability of MSCs to improve cardiac electrical velocity in a murine double infarction model (Park et al., 2022).
