INS and type 1 diabetes mellitus: Liraglutide is a GLP-1RA that is given as a daily subcutaneous injection and has been assessed in early-stage clinical trials in T1D.8,12‐16 Compared to placebo, liraglutide used adjunctively with insulin resulted in dose-dependent reduction in bodyweight8,12‐18 and adiposity15 while conserving lean mass,14 increased time in normal glucose range,14,17 and reduction in HbA1c,12‐14,17,19 total daily insulin (TDI),8,12,13,16‐18 and glycemic variability.18
