The HER2-encoding gene ERBB2 has been found to be amplified or overexpressed in various cancers, including breast, gastric, colorectal, esophageal, lung, bladder, endometrial, and ovarian cancers (Galogre et al., 2023), which makes this membrane-bound protein an effective target for cancer therapy (Baselga and Swain, 2009). This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and ovarian cancer.
