Results from a randomized, open-label, phase II trial of tecemotide in patients with previously untreated, asymptomatic stage I/II MM or with stage II/III disease in stable response/plateau phase after primary anti-tumor therapy have shown it to be generally well tolerated, with MUC1-specific immune responses induced or augmented in a substantial proportion of patients with MUC1-expressing MM cells during this study of tecemotide and cyclophosphamide (NCT01094548) [180]. The gene discussed is MUC1; the disease is neoplasm.
