AXL and non-small cell lung carcinoma: The phytocompound carvacrol (a monoterpenic compound), mainly isolated from the volatile oils of aromatic plants (such as Origanum vulgare and Thymus vulgaris, family Lamiaceae), showed favorable effects in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the study by Jung et al. The treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with concentrations between 100 and 300 μM carvacrol resulted in reduced AXL expression and phosphorylation in A549 and H460 cell lines.
