AFP and cancer: At the multivariate regression analysis, AFP ≥ 1000 ng/mL (HR 2.0; 95%CI 1.2–3.5; p = 0.009), tumor size ≥ 5 cm (HR 1.5; 95%CI 1.0–2.2; p = 0.034), Child–Pugh class B or C (vs. A) (HR 1.4; 95%CI 1.0–2.0; p = 0.042), BCLC stage A (vs. 0) (HR 1.8; 95%CI 1.2–2.6; p = 0.003), and malignant PVT (HR 2.3; 95%CI 1.2–4.4; p = 0.009) proved to be independent risk factors for mortality (Table 2).
