With regard to the detection of Txnip, Gpx3, Ccn2, Kap, Umod and Ren1, further analyses are needed to rule out that detection is not restricted to RNA level and that they are not only upregulated in the chronic phase of kidney injury, so that they can be used as prognostic biomarkers to predict the transition from AKI to CKD. This evidence concerns the gene GPX3 and acute kidney injury.
