Moving to nonischemic cardiomyopathies, colchicine was efficacious in improving indices of cardiac function (LV ejection fraction, diastolic and systolic diameter, natriuretic peptides), histological fibrosis area, circulating inflammatory biomarkers, and expression of NLRP3 inflammasome components (NLRP3, AIM2, ASC) in a murine model of doxorubicin-induced dilated cardiomyopathy [65]. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and dilated cardiomyopathy.
