The present study tested the antiproliferative activities of male and female M. pomifera on ER-positive MCF-7 (with wild-type tumor suppressor protein p53) and T47D (with mutant type p53) breast cancer cell lines and found that both male and female extracts significantly reduced the proliferation of both breast cancer cell lines (Figure 1, Figure 2 and Figure 3). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is breast carcinoma.
