These results suggest that the absence of adipose PEX16 does not have an influence on HFD-induced obesity, although HFD-induced steatosis is partially attenuated; in contrast, the absence of liver PEX16 leads to a resistance to HFD-induced body weight gain and HFD-induced steatosis. This evidence concerns the gene PEX16 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
