Vericiguat, another NO-independent sGC stimulator, is approved in some countries for the treatment of people with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction (Markham and Duggan 2021); however, in the Phase III VICTORIA study, despite careful uptitration guided by an evaluation of blood pressure (BP) and clinical symptoms, 15.4% of vericiguat-treated participants developed hypotension, including 9.1% of vericiguat-treated participants who had symptomatic hypotension (Armstrong et al. 2020). This evidence concerns the gene SGCB and heart failure.
