To note, when we excluded carriers of known pathogenic variants in LRRK2, GBA1, and SNCA, and those with scans without evidence of dopaminergic deficits (SWEDD), the estimated frequency in PD is higher (0.84%), which is slightly higher than what was previously reported in the Finnish population, who report a frequency of 0.53% in PD patients5. Here, GBA1 is linked to Parkinson disease.
