ALB and hemorrhagic stroke: Up to 45.5% of patients develop hypoalbuminemia (<35 g/L) after AIS.[19] A study by Li et al found that low serum albumin was associated with an increased risk of AIS and hemorrhagic stroke.[20] In addition, Gao et al found that reduced serum albumin levels were independently associated with poor prognosis in patients with anterior circulation acute large vessel occlusion stroke treated with endovascular thrombectomy.[21]
