The majority of our results have been verified by many studies that analyzed the risk factors for COVID-19-associated hospitalization [25,26,27]; specifically, the presence of at least two comorbidities was indirectly associated with hospitalization, but closely linked to age, while age > 70, male gender, high CRP blood levels, and breathing difficulties were directly correlated with an increased risk for hospitalization, as well as three distinct radiological features: Lung Opacity, Edema, and Infiltration. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is COVID-19.
