Currently, there are many studies on the mechanism of action of dapagliflozin, including anti-inflammation, anti-fibrosis, reduction of apoptosis, expression of angiogenic factors, etc. The study by Elkazzaz, S.K. et al. had shown that compared with the diabetic nephropathy-rat group, the histological examination, inflammation and apoptosis markers in the dapagliflozin-treatment group were dose-dependently improved, and the expression of the angiogenic factor VEGF was improved [24]. Here, VEGFA is linked to diabetic kidney disease.
