The study also found that combined inhibition of DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) and LSD2 reactivates expression of abnormally silenced genes with important functions in breast cancer and enhances cellular apoptotic responses, suggesting that combinatorial therapy targeting LSD2 and DNMTs effectively improves the antitumor efficacy of DNMT inhibitors in breast cancer. Here, DNMT1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
