IGF2BP2 and cancer: It has been reported that diverse viruses can induce alterations in transcriptome-wide m6A modification in host cellular RNA (Lichinchi et al., 2016; Baumgarten et al., 2019; Li et al., 2021) Although HR-HPV 16/18 infection increases the expression of IGF2BP2 to stabilize m6A methylated MYC in cervical cancer (Hu et al., 2022), and high levels of METTL3 in HR-HPV-associated cancer mediate an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (Yu et al., 2022), there are no data about the effect of LR-HPV infection on the transcriptome-wide m6A distribution on cellular RNA.
