Multivariate Cox regression-survival analysis (adjusted for the tumor size, N stage, M stage, TNM stage, and CPT1C level) revealed a strong correlation between high CPT1C expression and a shorter OS (P = 0.0394, HR = 1.71, 95% CI, 1.03–2.84, Fig. 7e; Supplementary Table S6) and that CPT1C expression was an independent prognostic indictor for patients with ESCC. This evidence concerns the gene CPT1C and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
