Results indicated increased NAFLD odds per 1-SD increment in BMI (OR [95% CI] = 1.06 [1.02, 1.1]; p = 1 × 10–3), waist circumference (OR [95% CI] = 1.71 [1.12, 2.61]; p = 1 × 10–2), smoking initiation (OR [95% CI] = 1.27 [1.13, 1.44]; p = 9.21 × 10–5), depression (OR [95% CI] = 1.3 [1.15, 1.47]; p = 2 × 10–5), iron levels (OR [95% CI] = 1.22 [1.08, 1.37]; p = 1 × 10–3), and galectin-3 (OR [95% CI] = 1.07 [1.01, 1.13]; p = 1 × 10–2).
