During our in vivo experiment with plicamycin in an HCM mouse model, another team reported that the SP1 inhibitor plicamycin can protect cardiomyocytes from myocardial infarction (MI) in vitro (Geng et al., 2021), which, together with the results of the present study, suggest the great potential of applying plicamycin to treat heart diseases. This evidence concerns the gene SP1 and myocardial infarction.
