The cytokines were detected, and although IL-4 (short half-life) concentrations were undetectable in all groups, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13, IL-17 levels were markedly greater in the eosinophil- and plasma cell-dominant CRSwNP groups than in the control group; in particular, the IL-6 level was significantly greater in the plasma cell-dominant CRSwNP group. Here, IL13 is linked to chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.
