Men at age 60 yr with a PSA level of ≥3.0 ng/ml and a 4Kscore cutoff of <7.5% had zero and 0.55% risks of prostate cancer death within 10 yr [23], which, given the lead time of prostate cancer screening, means that biopsy can safely be avoided in these men. This evidence concerns the gene KLK3 and prostate carcinoma.
