Basal levels of cytokines including IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TNF-alpha, and IFN-gamma showed a transit elevation followed by stable status in peripheral blood, especially the level of IL-6, which is the central mediator of toxicity associated with cytokine release syndrome (CRS) (Additional file 1: Fig. S4C, 4F, 4I, 4 K, and 4L). The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is congenital rubella syndrome.
