BRAF and melanoma: Combining targeted therapies dabrafenib and trametinib in first-line BRAF mutant advanced melanoma has shown 5-year survival of 34%.13 Similarly, single-agent first-line pembrolizumab has shown a 5-year survival of 38%.13 Estimating survival for patients with advanced melanoma has become challenging as these therapies improve survival compared to their chemotherapeutic predecessors.
