ANXA1 and neoplasm: Importantly, the ANXA1:FPR1 interaction has been implicated in the tumor microenvironment of several malignancies (Cheng et al., 2014; Takaoka et al., 2018; Vecchi et al., 2018; Zhao et al., 2022), indicating that the E. faecalis-infected wound niche mimics the anti-inflammatory transcriptional program of the tumor microenvironment.
