Because HIV infection results in changes that NK cells can recognize [49, 99], a similar experiment was conducted using HIV-infected CD4+ T cells, wherein NK cells were pre-treated for 24 hours in either bryostatin-1, prostratin, or SUW133 in parallel with untreated cells, then incubated in a 4-hour lysis assay with HIV-infected CD4+ T cells at an E:T ratio of 1:1 (Supplemental Figure 7).
