NEK2 and cancer: Previous research has shown that the NEK2 gene is crucial for controlling several aspects of the cell cycle, including the stability of microtubules, centrosome replication and division, chromatin condensation, kinetochore adherence, checkpoints in spindle formation, and spindle polar age markers.[30–34] Although the involvement of NEK2 in the morbidity and survival rate of some malignant tumors has been reported,[35] research exploring the roles of NEK2 in the development of clear cell RCC remains mainly unexplored.
