Shen et al have shown that DUSP1 is significantly downregulated in TCGA-STAD, consistent with our finding.[14] However, Teng et al have demonstrated that DUSP1 is upregulated in apatinib-resistant gastric cell lines and induces apatinib resistance by activating the MAPK pathway.[42] Furthermore, increased DUSP1 inhibits autophagy-dependent ferroptosis in pancreatic cancer.[43] Thus, the role of DUSP1 in ferroptosis and drug resistance in gastric cancer remains elusive and needs further exploration. This evidence concerns the gene DUSP1 and gastric cancer.
