Thirdly, multiple added mechanisms operating to control nitric oxide and other MMPs (MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-9, MMP-12, and MMP-13) in the range of 3–20 h in disordered pregnancy, such as preeclampsia (a slow-developing condition manifested after weeks of pregnancy), are also needed to be examined in future studies with isoflurane anesthesia in pregnancy [35].
