High levels of wild-type VRK1 expression are associated with poorer prognosis in many types of cancer [4] including multiple myeloma [150], lung cancer [4,41,58,151], head and neck squamous cell carcinoma [48], esophageal cancers [152], gastric cancer [153], liver [154], colon [155], breast [84,149,156], hepatocellular carcinomas [154], Wilms tumors [157] and gliomas [158–160]. Here, VRK1 is linked to plasma cell myeloma.
