Further, analysis of lesional and non-lesional skin samples from AD patients revealed that the expression of IL24 was significantly elevated in the lesional region of AD patients, which was about 3-fold higher than in healthy controls and non-lesional region of the patients, indicating that the upregulation of IL24 was restricted to lesional skin and IL-24 played a potentially conserved regulatory role in human and mouse (Fig. 1J). Here, IL24 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
