LACTB and cancer: Annual trends of consumption rates for each antibiotic subgroup were similar for cancer decedents and non-cancer controls: decreasing trends were observed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation cephalosporins, penicillins, aminoglycosides, and macrolides, whereas increasing trends were seen for 4th generation cephalosporins, beta-lactam/beta-lactamase inhibitor combinations, fluoroquinolones, carbapenems, glycopeptides, oxazolidinediones, and polymyxins (Table 2 and Supplementary Figure 3).
