As shown by the results, 2 months and 6 months after surgery, neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and gastrin-releasing peptide precursors (proGRP) levels in advanced small cell lung cancer patients are decreased compared with those before, accompanied by the significantly improved postoperative quality of life; the median progression-free and survival are 5.1 and 9.0 months, respectively. Here, GRP is linked to small cell lung carcinoma.
