In a study that included 44 ESCC patients with lymph node metastases, after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, there was no significant correlation between PD‐L1 positivity in the primary tumor and prognosis (p = 0.31), whereas pathologic lymph node metastases and positivity for PD‐L1 in lymph nodes were independent poor prognostic factors for patients (p = 0.0122, p = 0.0463).8 The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
