Recently, a short-duration study of probiotic combinations containing 14 strains of Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Bifidobacterium, Propionibacterium, and Acetobacter revealed that probiotic mixtures contribute to reducing body weight gain and visceral fat accumulation, hepatic lipid contents, serum cholesterol, TG, glucose, and levels of insulin and leptin, with subsequent improvement of insulin sensitivity and prevents the development of NAFLD in neonatal mice [61,62]. Here, INS is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
