In the Korean Acute Heart Failure registry, CRP was a clear prognostic marker for any form of heart failure (HFrEF, HF with mildly reduced EF, or HFpEF), but only in a subgroup of patients with EF > 40% and upper tertiles of CRP (>1.14 mg/dL) who were on statins showed a better survival trend than those who were not [77]. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
