In breast cancer cells, McAllister et al. [51] showed by analyzing three different classes of cannabinoid compounds that the compound with the most pronounced inhibitory effect on tumor cell proliferation, invasion, and migration was CBD, and further study of the related mechanism of action indicated that CBD could inhibit the expression of the transcriptional regulator Id-1 in breast cancer cells by increasing both p-ERK and ROS, thereby reducing cell proliferation and invasion. The gene discussed is ID1; the disease is breast cancer.
