Mice overexpressing the Wnt ligand Wnt10b in adipocytes from the FABP4/aP2 promoter were shown to have impaired WAT (and BAT) development, with a reduction in the number but not in the size of adipocytes [111] and protection from dietary and genetic obesity [111,112].
