Hypertensive rats with obesity exhibit hyperaldosteronism due to the release of aldosterone from the adrenal glands, which is stimulated by factors released by fat cells, such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF), complement C1q tumor necrosis factor-related protein 1 (CTRP1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and oxidative by-products of linoleic acid.
