For the top two hallmark pathways, MYC and oxidative phosphorylation, multiple studies have reported that MYC is frequently expressed in MCL, and targeting MYC provide a novel therapeutic strategy for MCL patients28,29; multiple studies have found that the MCL cancer cells can be effectively targeted with a small-molecule inhibitor of oxidative phosphorylation as a therapeutic strategy30,31. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is mantle cell lymphoma.
