CD34 and HIV-1 infection: We reported (Padmanabhan et al., 2020) that the two human T-cell-specific miRNAs, miR-15a (Cimmino et al., 2005; Zhao et al., 2009) and miR-24 (Wang et al., 2008; Roy et al., 2015), were differentially regulated in HIV-1 infection and impaired myelopoiesis (CFU-GM) and erythropoiesis (BFU-E) of the CD34+ cells.
