This study suggests that electroacupuncture stimulation of Baihui point (DU20) and Shenting point (DU24) may inhibit NF-κB-mediated neuronal cell apoptosis by significantly down-regulating the expression of pro-apoptotic Bax and Fas, two critical downstream target genes of the NF-κB pathway, and thus achieve therapeutic effects on post-stroke cognitive impairment. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is Cognitive impairment.
