In this study, in vitro coculture and conditioned medium encompassing three cell types crucial in the development of hepatic fibrosis, HSCs, represented by LX-2, and two cell lines that support active replication of HIV and HCV, namely, CD4 T lymphocytes (Jurkat cells) and hepatocytes (Huh7.5), were used. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and Hepatic fibrosis.
