Andersen et al. [162] used CRISPR-Cas9-based gene editing to develop a haploid insufficiency model of sortilin-related receptor 1 (SORL1) (which encodes the endosomal recycling receptor) in Gögenting’s miniature pigs, providing support for studying the pathological characteristics of AD caused by SORL1 haploinsufficiency. The gene discussed is SORL1; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
