Given the increasing concern about the prognosis of individuals with diabetes with an increasing risk of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and the attention paid to DR treatment, some studies have shown that the main treatment methods for diabetic retinopathy, such as intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor, may lead to an increased risk of vascular thrombosis and thromboembolic events11–13.
