To investigate whether macropinocytosis is also involved in the regulation of the Na,K-ATPase, SW480 cells were treated with the Na+/H+ exchanger inhibitor ethylisopropylamiloride (EIPA) that blocks macropinocytosis (Koivusalo et al., 2010), which resulted in a reduction of the levels of the lysosomal marker CD63 and Na,K-ATPase, (Fig. S1B-B′′ and S1E-E′′) in SW480 cancer cells.
